A native New Yorker, Marjorie worked in media and advertising in a sales capacity after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied marketing and communications. The stresses of a decade working in a corporate environment led her to yoga classes, which soon became a necessary part of her life, ultimately resulting in more balance and clarity. The more yoga she practiced, the more unappealing the corporate world became.
A year after completing the OM Yoga teacher training in 2001, she experienced her first Anusara® yoga class. Through the practice of Anusara, Marjorie's chronic neck and shoulder injuries improved and ultimately healed, transforming her practice, and leading to her specialty in yoga therapeutics. Marjorie became a Certified Anusara Teacher in July 2008, and continues to deepen her studies with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, as well as many other gifted teachers in the community.
Marjorie teaches yoga privately in New York City, and these sessions, weekly classes and workshops emphasize yoga therapeutics. For all students, including those who experience injuries and illness in their lives, Anusara yoga's Universal Principals of Alignment create space, stability and freedom in the body, leading to a profound state of healing.
